The environment

The 'environment' is a general term which stands for the 'lived-in environment', the area in which human subsistence is contained. Therefore, the term 'environment' not only represents the relationship between people and 'nature', but also their relationship to social and technological factors which determine their quality of life.

Nature and species, water, earth, air, climate, waste, pollution, energy, nuclear energy, radioactivity, light, noise, electromagnetic pollution and chemicals are all important factors which affect environment.

Demands made on modern environmental politics led to the development of environmental protection as a goal of planning departments. One of the consequences of European legislative decision and the setting of transitional periods, is the inclusion of new legislation, ordinances and administrative regulation into  application processes. This was due to concerns from regional and national government. The legal areas and laws effected can normally be broken down by their effect on environmental factors and govern the following areas:  construction of public buildings, regional planning, nature and landscape conservation, water rights, waste disposal, soil conservation, immission control, radiation control, road traffic laws, mining rights, animal welfare protection, energy, hazardous materials, forestry, hunting, fisheries, agriculture, health (medicines, consumables, animal feed) and workplace safety.
