Town districts

The administrative town of Borken has a history of over 780 years to look back on. In the 1969 local government reforms, Borken was fused with Gemen as well as eight other previously independent towns and communities who had been in the the districts of Marbeck-Raesfeld and Gemen-Weseke. Today over 41.000 residents live within a total area of 153 km².
